Natiya Guin, Owner & President

NatiyaNatiya Guin grew up on the sunny beaches of Santa Monica, CA where the city’s beauty and cultural abundance brought her interest to photography and film making at a young age. She also lived in Hawaii as a small child and visits yearly; the joy of the “aloha” spirit, natural beauty and wonderful surf keep her constantly inspired. This led to Natiya founding her own company, Ohana Productions, Inc where she produces and directs DVD’s. In addition, she’s produced and directed television and documentaries (Love Beyond Borders, Chicken Chicken etc.) Natiya is also a professional photographer and her photographs can be found in such magazines as Massage Magazine, Massage and Bodywork Magazine, and Yogi Times to name a few.

Natiya’s intrigue with health and athletics grew from learning Tai Chi, Yoga, Surfing, and spending much time at her mom’s massage school IPSB, since the age of two. She also accompanied her mother to anatomy and acupuncture classes. When visiting her dad, kayaking and skiing were their favorite past times. Severely injured due to a major car accident at twelve years old truly taught Natiya about health and the power to heal our selves. Natiya had heard her mom’s history of having spinal meningitis as a child, and knew her mother had been in two major car accidents as a young woman that had changed her life. So, as Natiya recovered from being hit by a drunk driver (going 60 miles per hour as she walked across the street) she was inspired by her mother’s recovery. Natiya knew that it would take much diligence and consistent therapy to return to the way of life she had always enjoyed. Eventually she was back to surfing and yoga, but to this day pain in her neck or hip remind her how important it is to continue to care for her body diligently.

In 2002, Natiya graduated from UCSB with degrees in Aquatic Biology, Genetics, and Photography. She worked as a massage therapist during college and for two years after. Natiya brought together her love of athletics, health, nature, photography, and filmmaking when she and her mom Val Guin, founded Ohana Productions, Inc in 2004. Their first production was a huge success. Massage Magazine currently rates Val Guin’s Forearm Dance the number one massage DVD in the world. They are currently producing Val’s second Forearm Dance Video. The company is expanding its production arm, producing projects focusing on other types of holistic health alternatives, mind, spirit, and body. These will soon be available through Ohana’s Distributor, At Peace Media, LLC.
